There’s a new era loading for Alexandar Iwobi, and it’s not happening on the pitch.

On April 9th, the football star is stepping into a whole new space with the release of his debut EP, “More To Life.”

The project gives us a glimpse into a different side of him—creative, expressive, and clearly open to exploring something new. Across nine tracks, Iwobi brings together a mix of collaborators, including Teniola Time, Giddi, P17, SPKS, and Fido, creating a project that feels full, layered, and very intentional.

There’s “Bussdown,” featuring Teniola Time, Giddi, and 4AM—already sounding like one of those tracks you’ll want on repeat—and “Joanna,” featuring Fido, which is bound to catch listeners’ attention. Add in multiple appearances from P17 and SPKS across the project, and you get a cohesive but varied listening experience.

See the tracklist:

  • Mine (ft. 24AM)
  • Bussdown (ft. Teniola Time, 4AM & Giddi)
  • Joanna (ft. Fido)
  • Proper (Freestyle) (ft. P17 & SPKS)
  • Double Double (ft. P17 & SPKS)
  • By My Side (ft. P17 & SPKS)
  • Joga Bonito (ft. P17 & SPKS)
  • Letter

And then there’s “Joga Bonito”—a phrase that instantly brings football to mind. It’s a subtle reminder that even as he steps into music, his roots are still very much part of the story.

Iyanya is gearing up for a big comeback with his new single “Sorry,” featuring fast-rising star Fido. The track, co-produced by Ubi Franklin and Mikaba Beatz, is the lead single off his upcoming album “The Forester’s Son,” set to drop in the coming week.

“Sorry” is a mid-tempo Afrobeats tune with a heartfelt story at its core—love, regret, and the hope of making things right. Iyanya’s smooth vocals carry the weight of the emotions, while Fido brings a fresh energy that makes the collaboration feel just right.

The music video mirrors the song’s theme, telling the story of a strained relationship with visuals that are stylish yet relatable. It’s the kind of video you’ll want to sit through to the very end.

For Iyanya, it’s a reminder of why he has remained a solid name in Afrobeats, with a catalogue that goes far beyond the early Kukere era. For Fido, it’s another strong step forward in his rise, fresh off his debut EP Olayemi and hits like Awolowo.

With “Sorry” setting the tone, the countdown to “The Forester’s Son” has officially begun.

Rising Afrobeats star Fido has officially released his debut EP, and it’s one that will stay with you. Titled “Olayemi,” his given name, this 8-track project is both personal and powerful, tracing his path from the quiet corners of Matogun in Ogun State to the global music stage.

If you’ve had “Joy Is Coming“ on repeat since the start of 2025, you’re not alone. That track became a beacon of hope for many looking to start the year on a brighter note. Now, Fido returns with a remix in “Olayemi” featuring none other than Kizz Daniel.

Speaking to Apple Music, Fido says, “Olayemi reflects on my journey from where I came from in Ogun State. All of these eight songs are about my journey from my hood to now; a famous artist in the global space.” It’s the kind of reflection that runs through every track on the EP — from the hauntingly honest “Lungu”, where he pours out the weight of past struggles, to the infectious energy of “Money Moves”, where triumph rings clear.

Fido also gets romantic on “I Miss You Die”, a smooth R&B track that shows he’s not just about hustle and bustle alone. And with “Dollarpor”, a catchy blend of Yoruba and English, he sets his sights on even bigger wins.

By the time the final track rolls around, it’s clear — Fido isn’t just singing his story. He’s singing ours, too. The pain, the hustle, the joy, the hope.

You’ve heard the sound, you’ve danced to it, you’ve hummed along, tapping your feet to its sweet rhythms, and maybe even at the start of the new year, you made it your declaration—simply because “Joy Is Coming.”

Now, Fido brings that joy to life with the official music video for his viral hit, “Joy Is Coming,” now streaming on YouTube and all major platforms.

Directed by Filmboi, the creative mind behind visuals for Afrobeats heavyweights like Rema, the video captures the heart of the song’s message: joy, celebration, and community. Set in Lagos, Nigeria, the city where it all began for Fido, the video is a colourful tribute to the artist’s roots, showing people dancing, laughing, and soaking in the promise of better days.

But this isn’t just another video drop. According to Fido, it’s a reintroduction. “This music video is inspired by my love for the song and the message the song is passing. Joy is Coming is about believing in the miracles that come with happiness and how it is manifesting in your lives no matter what you’re going through. You will see it in the scenes and in the energy of the video that Joy is coming and joy is here to stay.”
