Tiwa Savage Pours Heart & Soul Into New Album “This One Is Personal” | Listen

Tiwa Savage has released her fourth studio album, “This One Is Personal,” a 15-track project that draws deeply from her own life. The body of work explores themes of love, heartbreak, faith, and renewal, presenting what she describes as her “most vulnerable” record to date.

“It’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been on a record,” Savage told Apple Music. “Every single record resonates with an experience I’ve gone through. It took two years for me to do this record.”

Recorded in different parts of the world, the album feels like pages from her personal diary. Tiwa admits it came out of a difficult period in her life, but making it turned out to be “very therapeutic too.” The album keeps its guest list small—Skepta, Taves, and James Fauntleroy are the only featured artists—leaving room for Savage’s voice and storytelling to take the lead. Preceded by the singles “You4Me” and “On the Low” featuring Skepta, the project moves between stripped-back piano ballads, mid-tempo grooves, and raw, confessional songwriting.

Highlights include the piano-led “I’m Done”, the narrative-driven “10%”, and “You’re Not the First (You’re Just the Worst)”, which captures her unflinching honesty. On “Pray No More”, Savage reshapes expectations around prayer, while “Change” takes a more spiritual turn as she reflects on her relationship with God.

“You guys… my album is finally out  I honestly can’t put into words the emotions I’m feeling right now. This project is so close to my heart, and I poured every part of me into it. I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with, she says on X announcing the album.

Tiwa Savage & Skepta Capture the Beauty of a Private Love in “On The Low”

Are you feeling the groove and the love in Tiwa Savage’s new track, “On The Low” featuring Skepta? It’s the kind of song that stirs up all the emotions — and if you’ve been playing it on repeat, you’re not alone.

“On The Low” weaves together the rhythms of Afrobeats and the moody essence of UK R\&B, setting the tone for a story of love unfolding away from prying eyes. The song explores a relationship kept quiet, perhaps because of external pressure, complicated circumstances, or fear of judgement. Still, the desire between them is undeniable, with a longing for intimacy and moments shared in private.

And now, with the release of the video, that quiet tension and connection come to life on screen. With just Tiwa and Skepta taking centre stage, the visual is simple yet intimate.  A perfect match for the song’s message.

Tiwa Savage and Skepta Just Made a Case for Low-Key Love on “On The Low”

After weeks of subtle hints and teaser clips, Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage and British-Nigerian rapper  Skepta have finally made it official with “On The Low,” their smooth new single ahead of her fourth studio album “This One Is Personal.”

It follows April’s “You4Me,” that soft, swoony R&B number she described as a gift for her RnB lovers.

Produced by Rymez, “On The Low” floats between Afrobeats and smoky UK R&B. Tiwa Savage glides through the beat with that confidence she wears so well, while Skepta steps in with a verse that’s sharp, calm, and clean.

Lyrically, it stays in the world of private love. It is about the kind of romance that lives in soft moments, unspoken habits, and low-lit memories.

Nigerian rap star Odumodublvck has confirmed that fans will finally get their first official look at his highly anticipated project, The Machine Is Here, this Friday, September 19, 2025.

The rapper, also known as Big Kala, made the announcement on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, through a personal letter and a press release he shared on X (formerly Twitter). The post, titled "A Letter from Kala – Industry Machine", carried both his reflections on the past year and an official statement from his labels, NATIVE Records and Def Jam Recordings.

In the heartfelt letter, Odumodublvck looked back on a whirlwind 12 months of touring, success, and awards. “What a year it has been. I’ve been all over the world, spreading the gospel of the machine. From Yaounde, Cameroon, to Stockholm, Sweden. From Unilag to Seattle. AbuaD to Paris. Stages to schools. Another number one mixtape. DJ Obi calls for recognition of Skepta’s role in Afrobeats’ global rise

Renowned Nigerian DJ, DJ Obi, is urging the Afrobeats community to give British-Nigerian rapper Skepta the credit he deserves for helping the genre gain international recognition.

Speaking on a recent podcast, DJ Obi reflected on a defining moment in Afrobeats history, the release of the Ojuelegba remix featuring Skepta and global superstar Drake in 2015. According to him, this collaboration marked a major turning point for African music on the world stage.

“Skepta did a lot for Afrobeats. I don't think we give him his flowers and respect,” DJ Obi stated, as he revisited the crucial connections that opened doors for Nigerian artists internationally. He explained that while local stars were already making waves at home, it took influential allies like Skepta to help bridge the gap to global markets.

Obi highlighted how Skepta, a respected figure in the UK music scene, used his platform to champion Wizkid and Afrobeats at a time when the genre was still finding its footing abroad. That connection ultimately brought Drake into the picture, leading to one of Afrobeats’ most significant crossover moments.

“When there was need for help to cross over, certain people stood up. And Skepta was one of those people,” Obi emphasized, adding that the collaboration wasn’t just about music but about cultural representation and access.

While making it clear he’s not dismissing the hard work of Nigerian artists, DJ Obi maintained that figures like Skepta played a crucial role in amplifying the genre and deserve to be acknowledged for their contribution.
