Ayra Starr Steps Into a Surreal New World in Her “Tornado” Video | Watch

Ayra Starr in a black lace top against a purple sky, next to a surreal scene of a frozen crowd suspended above a miniature city skyline

A still from the “Tornado” video capturing a close-up of Ayra Starr alongside a surreal scene of a frozen crowd suspended above a miniature city.

If you’ve been jamming to Ayra Starr‘s “Tornado” since it dropped at midnight, the superstar has got something even better for you. The music video is finally here, and it abandons everyday reality for a completely stylized, surreal world where Ayra takes over a miniature city. Instead of a typical performance clip, she commands the screen as a towering, larger-than-life figure stepping over tiny apartment blocks and lounging across skyscraper skylines.

The video takes a clever swipe at hyper-fame and constant public scrutiny. In one memorable setup, she stands against a bright blue backdrop completely ringed by aggressive paparazzi lenses and vintage microphones. As storm clouds gather, the imagery gets wonderfully chaotic, featuring a winged figure blowing a trumpet into the camera and a child aiming a toy gun at birds in a dark sky.

Everything builds to a wild final act where a crowd of people—including suited businessmen—are left hanging mid-air, tangled up in a giant black web across the night sky. Ayra walks coolly underneath the chaos, with her own hair stretching up to weave directly into the threads holding the frozen crowd. It is a bold, artistic statement that gives a fantastic taste of what her new era looks like.

Watch Shakira & Burna Boy Perform “Dai Dai” at FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony

Burna Boy has officially performed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony — and the moment was everything Nigerian music fans have been waiting for. The Lagos-born Afrobeats star took the stage at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Thursday, 11 June, alongside Colombian superstar Shakira, in front of over 80,000 fans inside the stadium and millions watching around the world.

Shakira opened the performance, taking to the pitch and executing the choreography of “Dai Dai” — the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem — with her dancers before Burna Boy joined her on stage. The two danced together as the crowd roared, closing the song with “Dale, allez, let’s go!” Following the performance, plumes of red and green smoke erupted from the top of the stadium in a nod to the colours of the Mexican flag.

For Shakira, the performance was a return to the World Cup stage 16 years after “Waka Waka” became the defining cultural moment of the 2010 South Africa tournament. For Burna Boy, it was one of the biggest stages any Nigerian artist has ever stood on — performing the official anthem of the most watched sporting event on the planet.

The ceremony also featured Tyla and Megan Thee Stallion, with Alejandro Fernández performing the Mexican national anthem and Tyla delivering the South African anthem. World Cup Ambassador Salma Hayek Pinault also welcomed fans from around the world before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa got underway.

Mr P’s “I Can’t Look Away” Video Is All About Those Dance Moves

Mr P and back-up dancers dressed in matching black leather outfits performing synchronised break dance choreography.

Have you missed those dance steps that give you goosebumps like you’re watching Michael Jackson on stage? Then you already know we’re talking about Mr P’s latest video for “I Can’t Look Away.”

Such a fitting title too. In the song, Mr P sings about a woman whose beauty has him completely locked in, to the point where he just can’t take his eyes off her. It’s that familiar line you’ve probably heard — or even said yourself — “you’re so beautiful, I can’t look away.”

The video leans into that feeling and then takes us straight into choreography mode. Mr P and his dance crew show up with routines that pull from the kind of steps fans have long associated with the Psquare era, the same movement-heavy style that defined so many of their performances.

There’s also a nostalgic feel running through it, the kind that makes you pause for a second just to take it all in.

So whether you’re stuck in Lagos traffic or getting ready for a night out, “I Can’t Look Away” slides easily into that rotation of songs you keep playing back to back.

And if you can pick up those moves like Mr P? Even better.

Ever since Falz dropped the audio for his hit track, “Omoge“, back in March 2026, the song has been practically inescapable. The track achieved rapid viral status across TikTok and Instagram, where creators adopted the sound for everything from high-fashion outfit transitions to wedding guest diaries. It quickly became a prominent digital soundtrack for the modern West African lifestyle, driving massive engagement online as fans hooked onto the distinct retro bounce.

Now, just as those online transition videos reached their peak, Falz has delivered the official music video, anchoring the digital movement in a beautiful piece of visual art. Produced by Aykbeats, “Omoge” builds its entire foundation on a direct sample of Sir Shina Peters. Falz masterfully layers his sharp, witty lyricism over this iconic, repurposed Juju-Afrobeats rhythm, reintroducing the legendary sound of 1989 “Shinamania” straight to a new generation of listeners.

The music video translates this nostalgic sonic foundation into a vibrant, meticulously curated visual experience. The director trades standard club backdrops for a brilliantly colourful presentation that mimics the style and tone of classic Nigerian television eras, updated with a modern, high-fashion sensibility. The choreography is a major focal point, executing synchronised routines that reference vintage dance movements while staying completely current.

The ultimate highlight of the video is a special appearance from Sir Shina Peters himself. Seeing the icon share the frame with Falz completely bridges the generational gap, turning the video into a genuine celebration of Nigerian pop culture history rather than a simple musical release.

If you’ve been waiting for Ayra Starr‘s Tiny Desk Concert, consider this your sign to stop everything and press play.

The Nigerian superstar finally made her debut behind NPR’s iconic desk, and she gave us a version of herself we don’t get to see every day. Gone were the statement heels, the mini skirts, and the full glam. Instead, Ayra showed up in a simple black sweatsuit and let her voice take centre stage.

And it worked.

From the moment she launched into “Birds Sing of Money,” it was clear this wasn’t going to be just another performance. Backed by a phenomenal live band, Ayra floated through fan favourites like “Gimme Dat,” “Who’s Dat Girl,” “Rush,” and “Commas,” giving each song a fresh energy that made them feel brand new.

As if that wasn’t enough, she also surprised fans with the debut of “Tornado,” a previously unheard track from her upcoming album, “Starrgirl.”

But it was the closing moments that really got us. Performing “Amin” and “Orun,” Ayra leaned into vulnerability, gratitude, and faith. The songs felt like a thank-you note wrapped in melody—a reflection on everything it took to get here.

Fun fact: Ayra has been dreaming about performing at Tiny Desk since she was 14 years old. Watching her finally step behind that famous desk felt like witnessing a full-circle moment in real time.

If you have been jamming to “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy since it dropped on 15 May — and if you have watched the music video featuring Uganda’s Ghetto Kids — then we have some very good news for you. That song is just one piece of a much bigger project, and Nigeria did not stop at one feature. The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album drops tomorrow, 5 June, and it turns out four Nigerian artists made the cut on what FIFA has described as the most extensive multi-track music initiative ever created for a World Cup.

Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” with Shakira serves as the official song of the tournament and the theme for the FIFA Education Fund, with songwriting credits that include Ed Sheeran among others. Rema follows with “Goals,” a collaboration with Thai rapper and singer Lisa and Brazilian singer Anitta that brings Afrobeats, K-pop, and Latin pop together on one track — released on 21 May and already doing numbers. Davido features on “No Place Like Home” alongside electronic music collective Major Lazer and Canadian pop icon Nelly Furtado, while Ayra Starr rounds off Nigeria’s representation with “Show Me,” alongside American rapper Latto.

The album’s full 18-track lineup also features the likes of Future and Tyla, Stormzy, The Rolling Stones, Daddy Yankee, and 21 Savage.

The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album is available to pre-save now across all major streaming platforms and releases in full tomorrow, 5 June 2026. Set your reminders.

Tems Releases Official Music Video for “What You Need” Off ‘Love Is A Kingdom’

A close-up black and white music video still of Tems looking to the side against a dark background with a Vevo logo in the bottom left corner.

A portrait still of Tems from her official “What You Need” music video, reinforcing the track’s themes of isolation and personal reflection.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where words are simple, but outside voices keep making everything feel complicated? That is the space Tems steps into with the official music video for “What You Need.”

The Grammy-winning singer has released the long-awaited visuals for the track, which originally appeared on her November 2025 project “Love Is A Kingdom.” While fans have had the song for a while, the new video adds a fresh emotional layer, bringing its themes of honesty, boundaries, and emotional clarity into sharper focus.

At its heart, “What You Need” is about choosing simplicity over confusion. Tems sings to a partner who is constantly swayed by external opinions, while she offers something steadier — reassurance, presence, and emotional grounding. The production stays minimal and unhurried, allowing the message to sit clearly without distraction.

The video reflects this tension through contrast. Wide, open architectural spaces sit beside intimate close-up frames, moving between distance and closeness as the story unfolds. Styled in structured silhouettes and muted tones, Tems keeps the visuals stripped back, letting emotion rather than spectacle carry the story forward.

The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album is getting bigger, and its latest addition brings together two artists from very different corners of the music world. Tyla and Future have released “Game Time,” a new single from the project that pairs the South African star’s vocals with the Atlanta rapper’s unmistakable flow.

One thing listeners may not see coming is Tyla’s rap verse. Best known for her melodic delivery, she switches things up on “Game Time,” stepping into a faster, more rhythmic pocket that adds a different layer to the song. The accompanying video mirrors the scale of the tournament, weaving together performance scenes and football-inspired visuals that build anticipation for the months ahead.

For Tyla, the song is more than just another collaboration. She described being part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album as a full-circle moment, reflecting on South Africa’s hosting of the tournament in 2010. “I’m so excited to perform at the opening ceremonies. Let’s go Bafana Bafana,” she said. Future echoed the global significance of the event, describing the World Cup as a stage unlike any other and expressing his excitement about performing the track live in Los Angeles.

“Game Time” also joins a growing list of World Cup releases featuring African artists. Burna Boy recently teamed up with Shakira on “Dai Dai,” whose official video features Uganda’s renowned dance troupe, the Ghetto Kids. With Tyla, Burna Boy, Rema and others involved in this year’s musical rollout, African artists are helping shape the soundtrack to football’s biggest event.

If you have been counting down to the World Cup and listening to “Dai Dai” on repeat, the good news is that you can now head straight to Shakira’s YouTube channel to watch the official music video. The Colombian pop icon and Burna Boy have officially dropped the highly anticipated visuals for their mega-collaboration, and it is already pulling in massive numbers online. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video splits its breathtaking scale between the sun-drenched streets of Miami and a stunning sequence with Shakira perched right on top of Mexico City’s iconic Angel of Independence.

While the track is a certified summer bop, the insane star power in this video has everyone talking. Serving as the official anthem for the tournament and the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, the visuals feature huge cameos from football royalty. Keep your eyes peeled because Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Rodri all make major appearances, adding some serious sports authority to the global track.

Despite the multi-million dollar football roster, the absolute heart and soul of the video belongs to Uganda’s phenomenal Triplets Ghetto Kids. The dance troupe is featured heavily right from the opening frames, delivering their unmistakable pace alongside Shakira in a dramatic desert landscape set against a massive Baobab tree.

Their inclusion brings a raw African dance spirit to the screen, completely stealing the show and grounding the video’s theme of global unity. Burna Boy delivers his verses with effortless charisma, showing once again why he is a premier global performer.

Watch Asake Perform “Gratitude” Alongside a Full Orchestra and Choir

Asake is keeping the momentum moving forward. Fresh off the release of his fourth studio album, “M$NEY,” the superstar has dropped the official music video for “Gratitude.”

Instead of the high-speed street scenes often found in contemporary Afro-fusion visuals, “Gratitude” opts for an intimate live studio-orchestra arrangement. Asake delivers the track from a vintage microphone setup, styled in a silver-studded black leather jacket, dark sunglasses, and a cap. Surrounding him, a group of musicians clad in uniform shades of off-white and cream anchor the layout. Classical violinists and a cellist provide the backing instrumentation alongside a live rhythm section, whilst a saxophonist delivers a solo while completely reclined on a studio mat.

As the track builds, a backing choir dressed in flowing white robes joins hands behind him, elevating the song’s choral Amapiano harmonies to a striking finish.

Lyrically, “Gratitude” serves as a deeply reflective anchor for the “M$NEY” album. Amidst his global success, the track offers a moment of pause—a sincere thank-you note for preservation, growth, and grounding. The acoustic elements of the live orchestra amplify this message, matching the introspective weight of the lyrics with rich instrumentation.

The release also serves as a major announcement. The video wraps up by rolling out the official dates and venues for Asake’s upcoming “In God We Trust World Tour” across North America and Europe, featuring Uncle Waffles as a special guest

Long-distance love is not for the weak, and Celeste Ojatula knows it.

On “This Side of Love,” the singer teams up with Dwin, The Stoic for a sweet, slow-burning track about loving someone from afar and still finding ways to feel close to them. From the soft guitar lines to the easy rhythm running through the song, everything about it feels warm and comforting, like a late-night phone call you do not want to end. Dwin slips into the record smoothly with understated lines and soft claps that make the song feel even more intimate, as though we are listening in on two people trying to hold onto each other from different corners of the world.

Then there is the video, which might just make you want to redecorate a room with someone you are in love with. One of the first scenes shows Celeste perched on Dwin’s shoulders while they paint a wall deep teal-green together, and the chemistry between them carries through the rest of the clip. Between silhouette shots, teasing little hand-clapping moments, and cosy close-ups in softly lit spaces, the visual feels personal in a way that quietly pulls you in.

“This Side of Love is a tender song about what it feels like to love someone in these times when they could be anywhere in the world,” Celeste says. “It’s a bittersweet feeling, and I wanted to remind myself we’ll always have each other.”

The single sets the tone for Celeste’s forthcoming EP, *Our Time In The Sun*, arriving on May 29, 2026. If this track is anything to go by, the project may well lean into love, longing, closeness, and the small emotional moments people carry with them long after conversations end.

Afrobeats Meets Football! Burna Boy Joins Shakira for the Official 2026 FIFA World Cup Song “Dai Dai”

A side-by-side collage of Burna Boy and Shakira, the artists behind the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song titled "Dai Dai

Shakira and Burna Boy have partnered for the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song, “Dai Dai”. The track, which serves as the lead anthem for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is scheduled for a global release on 14th May 2026.

The countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is officially on, and from 11th June 2026 to 19th July 2026, football fans all around the world will be glued to their screens for the largest edition of the tournament yet. But before then, we have a song that we will be jamming to—as a matter of fact, we are already jamming to it. The “Queen of World Cup Anthems,” Shakira, is back, and this time she has teamed up with our very own African Giant, Burna Boy, for the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song titled “Dai Dai.”

Both artists shared a 67-second teaser in a joint Instagram post filmed at the Maracaná Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. In the clip, Shakira appears on the pitch wearing a yellow top and blue skirt while holding the “Trionda,” the official match ball for the 2026 tournament.

The song pulls together Caribbean rhythms, Latin pop, and Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound into something built for stadium singalongs, football celebrations, and those moments when entire crowds start chanting together without needing instructions. It also mirrors the international spirit of the tournament itself, with the United States, Canada, and Mexico serving as host nations.

The full song arrives globally on 14th May 2026, but the teaser alone already has people online singing the “Oe, oe, oe” chorus. The track also moves between English and Spanish lyrics centred around unity and togetherness,

The full song is scheduled for a global release on 14th May 2026. While we have only heard snippets so far, the chorus featuring the classic football chant “Oe, oe, oe” alongside English and Spanish lyrics about unity has already gained significant traction online. Shakira, who previously delivered anthems like “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010 and “La La La” in 2014, expressed her excitement on social media, saying: “From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” FIFA also shared the clip, echoing the sentiment with a simple: “We’re ready!”

And Burna Boy is not the first Nigerian artist to step into the World Cup spotlight either. Davido also featured on the 2022 tournament anthem, but this latest collaboration pushes Afrobeats even further into the centre of football’s biggest stage.

With 48 teams set to compete for the first time in World Cup history, “Dai Dai” already sounds like the sort of song that will follow fans from viewing centres to cars, watch parties, stadiums, and celebrations long after the final whistle.

From Jollof Rice to Fried Yam: Ayra Starr’s Hilarious Cooking Moment You Need to See

In a session that can only be described as a beautiful kind of chaos, Ayra Starr recently joined Quenlin Blackwell for a high-energy episode of “Feeding Starving Celebrities,” and it’s an easy watch you don’t realise you’ve spent almost an hour on until it ends.

Spanning just over 55 minutes, the video captures the two navigating the kitchen with plenty of laughter, confusion, and very real attempts at Nigerian cooking.

The original plan was Jollof rice, but somewhere along the way, the Sabi Girl switched things up, steering the menu toward fried yam and eggs, a combo fans already know is her favourite. The pivot felt very on-brand, even as the process unfolded through a series of hilarious missteps that made everything even more entertaining.

Success at last as Ayra Starr prepares her best food, fried yam and eggs, marking the end of a high-energy 55-minute exchange on fame and artistic growth. Photo Credit: Quenlin Blackwell/Instagram

Beyond the kitchen chaos, the episode also offers a more grounded look at Ayra Starr. She opens up about staying true to her creative identity as her sound continues to travel globally, and what it means to grow within an industry that never really slows down. It’s an unfiltered conversation that shows a different side of her, relaxed, honest, and fully in the moment.

Fans have since been in the comments for the banter, the chemistry, and that very relatable attempt at Nigerian staples. Between the laughs and the food, it’s a chaotic, feel-good watch people keep coming back to.

Mary J. Blige stepping into the Spirit Tunnel? Yeah, it was never going to be a regular entrance.

From the second she appears — black blazer dress, thigh-high boots, sunglasses firmly in place — you already know she’s about to have fun with it. And she does. Immediately.

She’s moving to the beat like it’s second nature. A little two-step, shoulders in sync, walking and dancing at the same time. The outfit moves with her, the boots keeping time as she goes. And she’s not ignoring anyone either — she’s pointing at people, laughing, blowing kisses, giving just enough attention to make every interaction count.

And the crowd gave her plenty to respond to. Lined on both sides, they sang a custom welcome song, danced, clapped and celebrated her all the way through. “Pump it up in the tunnel ’cause we got Mary J. Blige, you know we love her! She’s an icon, so we gotta turn her up! Join the celebration, congregation, at the happy place, a joy to circulate… for Miss Mary J., let’s get it!” You could hear Mary laughing and saying “thank you” as she made her way forward, clearly enjoying every second of it.

Asake’s M$NEY Drops Soon! Here Are 5 Songs to Keep on Repeat Till Then

We bet you have heard the news that Asake, also known as Mr Money, is planning to drop his fourth studio album, M$NEY, on 1st May 2026 — and we know you are so eager for the day to arrive that the wait is already feeling like the longest week of your life. We get it. We are right there with you.

The good news is that while the calendar moves at its own pace, Asake’s back catalogue has more than enough to keep us dancing until that day comes. The man has given us enough material to keep the countdown going with a proper groove, and that is exactly what we plan to do.

M$NEY follows the successes of Lungu Boy, Work of Art, and Mr Money With The Vibe — three albums that between them broke streaming records, sold out arenas, and firmly established Asake as one of the most consistent artists Africa has ever produced. The man has not released a bad project yet, and anticipation for this one is at an all-time high.

While we wait, and we are absolutely counting down the days, here are five Asake songs to keep on rotation until 1st May arrives.

Sungba (Remix) ft. Burna Boy (2022)

If there is one song that announced to the world that Asake was not playing games, it is this one. Originally appearing on his debut EP “Ololade Asake,” the remix featuring Burna Boy reached number seven on the US Afrobeats Songs chart. Produced by his long-time creative partner Magicsticks, the song combined hypnotic log drums drawn from amapiano, Asake’s fuji-drenched hip-hop flow, and chanted backing vocals that burrowed into your brain and refused to leave. Within a month of the original dropping, Burna Boy had hopped on a remix, and the rest is history. Play this one and watch a room come alive instantly.

Peace Be Unto You (2022)

From his record-breaking debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe,” “Peace Be Unto You,” known widely as PBUY, is the song that showed the full range of what Asake could do with a melody. The track layered Islamic-inspired chants over high-octane production, making it one of the most distinctive songs of his breakout era. It proved that Asake was not a one-trick performer, that he could take sounds from deeply personal and cultural places and turn them into something that connected with millions of people across the world. It sounds just as good today as it did the first time you heard it.

Lonely at the Top

From his second studio album “Work of Art,” “Lonely at the Top” became his most-streamed song, peaking at number four on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and spending 13 weeks on the chart. Where many of his songs are built for movement and celebration, this one sits with you differently. It is introspective and aching, a meditation on the cost of ambition and the isolation that can come with success, themes that clearly resonated with a great many people. Crowds at his concerts have sung along to it with their hands in the air, which tells you everything about how deeply it landed.

Basquiat (2023)

Also from “Work of Art,” “Basquiat” is one of those Asake songs that rewards close listening. Named after the legendary American artist Jean–Michel Basquiat, the track is a confident, swaggering declaration of artistic self-belief — Asake drawing a line between himself and one of the most celebrated creative minds of the 20th century, and doing so without a hint of apology. It peaked at number five on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and spent 13 weeks on the chart. It is a record that sounds expensive, and it should — it was made by an artist who knows exactly what he is worth.

Remember (2024)

From “Lungu Boy,” his third studio album, Remember became the most-streamed song in Nigeria on Spotify — a fact that still feels almost impossible to process when you consider the competition. It is a love song, warm and open, built around a melody so straightforward and so well-executed that it feels inevitable. It made converts out of people who had not paid close attention to his earlier work, and it proved that after three albums and countless hit singles, Asake still had entirely new territory to explore.

1st May cannot come fast enough. Make sure M$NEY is the first thing you press play on when it drops.

Tyla is officially ready to usher us into a new era. After months of subtle teasers, the South African singer has confirmed that her sophomore album, A*POP, will be released on 24 July 2026. The announcement arrived via a cinematic trailer that sets a clear tone for what is to come: a project that is unapologetically African, confident, and global.

The trailer serves as a visual manifesto for the A-Pop era. Tyla narrates the transition into this new phase of her career, describing the project as an evolution where she is “settled in” and has a clearer sense of her direction. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that while her debut felt like a “rush,” she now knows exactly what she wants to say. This shift in perspective is evident in the album’s 19-track scope, which Tyla told i-D Magazine “really reflects” where she is in her life now, moving from the initial pressure of a massive debut to a sound that materialised naturally.

It is a significant moment for the singer, who has spent the last two years collecting accolades at a record-breaking pace. Her 2024 self-titled debut, “TYLA,” was the launchpad for “Water,” the viral hit that earned her the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance. She proved that success was no fluke by winning the same category again in February 2026 for “Push 2 Start,” making her the first artist to win the award twice and the youngest African artist with two Grammys to her name.

While the full tracklist for A*POP remains under wraps, the album already has a solid foundation. It features “Chanel,” which first appeared on her 2025 mixtape “WWP,” and her recent collaboration with Zara Larsson, “She Did It Again,” which leans into a 2000s-inspired pop aesthetic. There are also reports of a collaboration with Wizkid titled “Dynamite” being part of this cycle, further expanding the cross-continental reach she is aiming for.

Tyla is scheduled to perform at the TODAY Show’s Citi Concert Series in New York City on the day of the release, marking a high-profile start to the album’s life cycle.

Are They Family or Not? Watch Osas Ighodaro & Johnny Drille Clear the Air

Do you know that Osas Ighodaro and Johnny Drille are cousins? You did? Oh no! Why didn’t you tell us? Oh, you didn’t? We didn’t either! Imagine our surprise when we saw the two on a podcast together, finally addressing the million-dollar question that has been lingering around their shared surname for years.

In a new podcast, THE BTML POD, the pair sat down for a chat that felt less like a formal interview and more like a long-overdue family catch-up. The highlight of the sit-down was a comedic attempt to clarify their relationship. After a quick countdown to reveal the truth, they ended up giving completely different answers at the same time—Johnny went with a firm “No” while Osas opted for a “Yes”—leaving everyone in fits of laughter.

To clear up any lingering confusion, they reintroduced themselves using their full legal names. “I go by the name John Ighodaro,” the singer noted, followed quickly by Osas confirming her own identity as Osas Ighodaro. While they might be pulling our legs about the cousin status, the camaraderie between them is undeniable.

The conversation eventually shifted towards the music. It has been five years since Johnny released his debut album, “Before We Fall Asleep,” a timeline that Osas was quick to point out. While Johnny admitted he isn’t quite sure why the gap has been so long, he was firm on one thing: you cannot rush the craft.

The wait, however, is nearly over. Johnny shared that a new album is officially on the way, and he isn’t being modest about it. He claims this upcoming project is the best bit of work anyone is going to hear.

We’re keeping our ears open for that album release date, but for now, we’re just enjoying the fact that the Ighodaro duo finally put those surname rumours to bed, sort of.

Tems Performs “What You Need” on Fallon in a Silver Mesh Look You Can’t Miss

We bet you have listened to “What You Need” a countless number of times, it might even be on repeat on your favourite playlist right now, but have you watched Tems perform it live? Because the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon version is something else entirely.

Standing at the microphone with a live band and backup singers behind her, Tems delivered an unhurried, completely assured performance of the track that made the television studio feel far more intimate than it had any right to. No theatrics, no distractions. Just her voice, the song, and a room that went very still for all the right reasons.

The look she arrived in held its own just as well. Styled by Dunsin Wrights, she wore a floor-length white strapless gown with a fitted mermaid silhouette that opened into soft layers of gathered tulle at the hem. The bodice carried a textured, ruffled edge at the neckline, and a dramatic tulle overlay swept across the hip and fell to one side, adding movement without disrupting the clean lines of the dress. Makeup by Kayla Perez and hair by Ashanti Lation rounded it all out — full curls worn loose, balancing the formality of the gown. Everything about it was built for a stage.

“What You Need” was written and produced by Tems alongside her frequent collaborator GuiltyBeatz, and centres on declaring independence from a relationship that simply is not working — “I’m better on my own, you’re better when you’re gone.” It is taken from “Love Is a Kingdom,” her third EP, surprise-released in November 2025 via RCA Records — her first solo release since debut album “Born in the Wild” in 2024.Across seven tracks produced almost entirely by Tems herself, the project moves through love in all its forms — self-love, suspicious love, spiritual love, the love you hold onto and the love you walk away from.

She’s The Queen! Watch Tiwa Savage Go From ‘You4Me’ to ‘Energy’ at the MOBOs

We are not jealous of the people who were inside Co-op Live arena in Manchester on 26 March watching Tiwa Savage perform at the 2026 MOBO Awards and hearing an unreleased song from her for the very first time. We are completely fine. But if you are a Tiwa Savage fan and you were not there, we think it is safe to say you missed a great deal. Do not worry, we have got you with all the details.

On the red carpet, Tiwa arrived in a structured, architectural floor-length off-the-shoulder dress covered in 3D metallic geometric tiles in silver that gave the whole look a sculptural, mirror-like finish. A short pixie cut with soft finger waves, clean glowing makeup with a nude glossy lip and chunky diamond rings completed the red-carpet moment. She also told the host exactly what 2026 is the year of for her: “MONEY,” she said. No hesitation whatsoever.

For the performance, everything changed. She came out in a cropped multi-coloured leather biker jacket in chocolate brown, black and yellow, worn over a bright yellow bandeau top, a heavily embellished dark mini-skirt with gold hardware and oversized grommets, a white faux-fur attachment at the waist and white and yellow boxing-style boots. Layered chunky gold necklaces and statement gold earrings kept the luxury element running through the whole look.

The set was a masterful two-part medley. She opened with a soulful, stripped-back rendition of “You4Me,” reminding everyone of her incredible vocal range, before a “coin drop” moment shifted the gear entirely.

The transition into her unreleased song “Energy” was a full production—a troupe of dancers in monochromatic red streetwear, Afro-fusion choreography, architectural stage arches and bold lighting shifting from deep purples to fiery reds. It was Tiwa Savage at full capacity and Manchester felt every bit of it.
