Asake is keeping the momentum moving forward. Fresh off the release of his fourth studio album, “M$NEY,” the superstar has dropped the official music video for “Gratitude.”

Instead of the high-speed street scenes often found in contemporary Afro-fusion visuals, “Gratitude” opts for an intimate live studio-orchestra arrangement. Asake delivers the track from a vintage microphone setup, styled in a silver-studded black leather jacket, dark sunglasses, and a cap. Surrounding him, a group of musicians clad in uniform shades of off-white and cream anchor the layout. Classical violinists and a cellist provide the backing instrumentation alongside a live rhythm section, whilst a saxophonist delivers a solo while completely reclined on a studio mat.

As the track builds, a backing choir dressed in flowing white robes joins hands behind him, elevating the song’s choral Amapiano harmonies to a striking finish.

Lyrically, “Gratitude” serves as a deeply reflective anchor for the “M$NEY” album. Amidst his global success, the track offers a moment of pause—a sincere thank-you note for preservation, growth, and grounding. The acoustic elements of the live orchestra amplify this message, matching the introspective weight of the lyrics with rich instrumentation.

The release also serves as a major announcement. The video wraps up by rolling out the official dates and venues for Asake’s upcoming “In God We Trust World Tour” across North America and Europe, featuring Uncle Waffles as a special guest

BET has dropped the nominations for its 2026 ceremony and Nigerian music is, once again, all over the list. Tems, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake have all secured nominations for this year’s show, which holds on Sunday, 28 June 2026 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Druski.

Tems leads the Nigerian contingent with three nominations, making her the most nominated African act this year. She is up for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist alongside SZA, Olivia Dean, Mariah the Scientist, Kehlani, Jill Scott, Ella Mai, Coco Jones, and Ari Lennox. She also picks up a BET Her Award nomination for her song “First,” and a Viewers’ Choice nomination for “Raindance,” her collaboration with British rapper Dave.

Wizkid and Asake earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category for their collaborative project and string of chart-topping releases together, including tracks from their joint Real EP. Burna Boy rounds out the Nigerian music nominations with a Best Collaboration nod for “WGFT,” his feature on Gunna’s hit single from the 2025 album “The Last Wun.” Beyond music, stars of Nigerian heritage also feature prominently in the acting categories — Ayo Edebiri and Cynthia Erivo are both nominated for Best Actress, while Damson Idris received a Best Actor nomination.

South African star Tyla earned two nominations: Video of the Year and Viewers’ Choice for her track “Chanel.” Leading the overall nominations is Cardi B with six nods, followed by Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist with five each. Has “M$NEY” been on repeat since yesterday? Because if it has, you are not alone, and we would not have it any other way.

Asake told us the album was coming on 1st May 2026, and the man kept his word to the letter.

This is Asake’s fourth studio album, and it arrives at a remarkable point in his career. For context, his debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe” made Apple Music history in 2022 as the biggest opening day for an African album on the platform — and according to Apple Music, “M$NEY” finds him cashing in on the international acclaim he has built in the years since, resulting in his most global-facing body of work yet.

According to Apple Music, the core elements that have defined Asake’s sound — high-octane beats, fuji influences, and hooks that stay with you — remain firmly intact across the album. Tracks such as “Gratitude” and “Forgiveness” marry propulsive indigenous grooves and choral refrains with soulful, soul-searching melodies, while amapiano titan Kabza De Small features on “Asambe,” a momentum-building anthem that arrives and does not let go. Apple Music also highlights the album’s cross-genre moments — the R&B register of “Oba,” the festival-ready production DJ Snake brings to “WORSHIP” — noting that Asake’s own sonic identity remains the dominant expression throughout, absorbing more instantly recognisable sounds and making them his own.

One of those moments is “BADMAN GANGSTA,” a collaboration with Tiakola that samples Amerie’s 2005 hit “1 Thing,” a bold move that, according to Apple Music, succeeds in subsuming a well-known beat and making it entirely Asake’s.

Apple Music sums it up well: “It’s the same carefully managed balance of authenticity and expansion Asake has bet on for his entire career. With M$NEY, he hits the jackpot once again.”

We bring you good news from Mr Money’s camp! If you have been looking forward to a Friday release from the YBNL star, we are here to tell you that you shouldn’t worry too much. Asake has officially released the tracklist of what you should expect from his upcoming album, “M$NEY,” which is set to arrive on Friday, 7th August 2026.

The announcement arrived via a cinematic teaser video featuring a gallery-inspired aesthetic. In the visual, Asake walks through a grand marble hall where the names of his new tracks are etched into the stone, appearing as the floor cracks beneath his feet. The 13-track project includes his pre-released hit, “Worship“, featuring French electronic icon DJ Snake, a collaboration that has already set the tone for the album’s global reach.

Other notable guest appearances include French-Congolese rapper Tiakola and South African Amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small.

“M$NEY” follows the massive success of his 2024 sophomore album, Lungu Boy, which saw the artist experiment with faster tempos and international collaborations. The project was anchored by chart-topping hits like “Active” featuring Travis Scott, “MMS” with Wizkid, and the vibrant “Suru” featuring Stormzy.

We bet you have heard the news that Asake, also known as Mr Money, is planning to drop his fourth studio album, M$NEY, on 1st May 2026 — and we know you are so eager for the day to arrive that the wait is already feeling like the longest week of your life. We get it. We are right there with you.

The good news is that while the calendar moves at its own pace, Asake’s back catalogue has more than enough to keep us dancing until that day comes. The man has given us enough material to keep the countdown going with a proper groove, and that is exactly what we plan to do.

M$NEY follows the successes of Lungu Boy, Work of Art, and Mr Money With The Vibe — three albums that between them broke streaming records, sold out arenas, and firmly established Asake as one of the most consistent artists Africa has ever produced. The man has not released a bad project yet, and anticipation for this one is at an all-time high.

While we wait, and we are absolutely counting down the days, here are five Asake songs to keep on rotation until 1st May arrives.

Sungba (Remix) ft. Burna Boy (2022)

If there is one song that announced to the world that Asake was not playing games, it is this one. Originally appearing on his debut EP “Ololade Asake,” the remix featuring Burna Boy reached number seven on the US Afrobeats Songs chart. Produced by his long-time creative partner Magicsticks, the song combined hypnotic log drums drawn from amapiano, Asake’s fuji-drenched hip-hop flow, and chanted backing vocals that burrowed into your brain and refused to leave. Within a month of the original dropping, Burna Boy had hopped on a remix, and the rest is history. Play this one and watch a room come alive instantly.

Peace Be Unto You (2022)

From his record-breaking debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe,” “Peace Be Unto You,” known widely as PBUY, is the song that showed the full range of what Asake could do with a melody. The track layered Islamic-inspired chants over high-octane production, making it one of the most distinctive songs of his breakout era. It proved that Asake was not a one-trick performer, that he could take sounds from deeply personal and cultural places and turn them into something that connected with millions of people across the world. It sounds just as good today as it did the first time you heard it.

Lonely at the Top

From his second studio album “Work of Art,” “Lonely at the Top” became his most-streamed song, peaking at number four on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and spending 13 weeks on the chart. Where many of his songs are built for movement and celebration, this one sits with you differently. It is introspective and aching, a meditation on the cost of ambition and the isolation that can come with success, themes that clearly resonated with a great many people. Crowds at his concerts have sung along to it with their hands in the air, which tells you everything about how deeply it landed.

Basquiat (2023)

Also from “Work of Art,” “Basquiat” is one of those Asake songs that rewards close listening. Named after the legendary American artist Jean–Michel Basquiat, the track is a confident, swaggering declaration of artistic self-belief — Asake drawing a line between himself and one of the most celebrated creative minds of the 20th century, and doing so without a hint of apology. It peaked at number five on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and spent 13 weeks on the chart. It is a record that sounds expensive, and it should — it was made by an artist who knows exactly what he is worth.

Remember (2024)

From “Lungu Boy,” his third studio album, Remember became the most-streamed song in Nigeria on Spotify — a fact that still feels almost impossible to process when you consider the competition. It is a love song, warm and open, built around a melody so straightforward and so well-executed that it feels inevitable. It made converts out of people who had not paid close attention to his earlier work, and it proved that after three albums and countless hit singles, Asake still had entirely new territory to explore.

1st May cannot come fast enough. Make sure M$NEY is the first thing you press play on when it drops.

Skepta & Asake — Aloe Vera: A Cross-Continental Link-Up to Watch

Skepta and Asake are gearing up to release a new collaboration titled Aloe Vera, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated link-ups on the horizon.

Bringing together two distinct worlds—UK rap and Nigerian Afrobeats—the record carries serious potential. Skepta’s sharp, commanding presence paired with Asake’s melodic, high-energy delivery creates a contrast that could easily translate into something fresh and globally appealing.

While details around the sound are still under wraps, the title Aloe Vera hints at something smooth yet impactful—possibly a track that balances rhythm with a certain calm confidence, much like both artists’ signature styles. It’s the kind of pairing that doesn’t need overhyping; the names alone already set expectations.

For Asake, this marks another step in his continued global expansion, linking with international heavyweights while maintaining his core sound. For Skepta, it’s another nod to his long-standing connection with African music and culture, something he’s consistently tapped into throughout his career.

With both artists known for pushing boundaries in their respective lanes, Aloe Vera feels less like a routine collaboration and more like a moment. And if it lands the way it’s expected to, it could easily become one of those records that travels far beyond its initial drop.

After months of anticipation following that historic Red Bull Symphonic performance in Brooklyn, Asake has officially released “Worship” (also known as Alhamdulilah) featuring French-Algerian powerhouse DJ Snake.

The song isn’t your typical high-tempo Afrobeats rager; instead, it’s an atmospheric, mid-tempo record that leans heavily into Asake’s reflective and spiritual side. Lyrically, “Worship” is a song of gratitude and resilience. Asake uses the verses to acknowledge his journey from the streets of Lagos to global stages, centering the track around the refrain of “Alhamdulillah.”

Bringing DJ Snake into the mix adds a massive global layer to the sound. For those who only know him for “Lean On” or “Taki Taki,” Snake is a Grammy-nominated producer with a deep history of blending electronic music with diverse cultural sounds. Born in a Parisian banlieue to Algerian parents, he has spent the last year diving back into his North African roots with his new album, “Nomad.” On “Worship,” he trades his usual heavy trap drops for a cinematic, percussive arrangement that lets Asake’s Fuji-style vocal layers really breathe.

The music video, which matches the song’s gravity, moves away from the typical flashy “Mr. Money” tropes. Instead, it features striking desert imagery and a more grounded, ritualistic aesthetic that mirrors the song’s themes of faith and focus. It’s a deliberate pivot for Asake, arriving just as he returned from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah, making the track feel like a very public, very intentional “Alhamdulillah” for this stage of his life.

From the moment he burst onto the scene with that signature “Ololade mi Asake” tag, Nigerian music has not been the same. And Spotify just made it official. Asake has been confirmed as the most streamed artist in Nigeria since the platform launched in 2021, with four of the top ten most streamed songs in the country belonging to him, including the number one track “Remember.” Four out of ten. Let that sink in.

If you have ever found yourself at a party, a wedding, a road trip, or simply in your room at midnight and an Asake song came on and the whole atmosphere shifted, you already understand why the numbers look the way they do. Now We’re diving into the five tracks that have had Nigeria on a collective loop, with the volume firmly at 100.

Remember

As the official most-streamed song in Spotify Nigeria’s history, this standout from the 2023 album “Work of Art” remains a masterclass in Amapiano-infused nostalgia. Its infectious refrain and high-energy production turned it into a global anthem that still feels like a brand-new release every time it hits the speakers.

Lonely At The Top

Also from his 2023 sophomore project Work of Art, this soulful masterpiece became a national anthem for anyone navigating the pressures of success. It showcased a more vulnerable side of Mr. Money, proving he could dominate the charts with quiet introspection just as easily as with loud club bangers.

Joha

A fan-favorite from his record-breaking 2022 debut album Mr. Money With The Vibe, this track originated from a dance he created during his university days. Its fusion of traditional Fuji vibes with modern log drums made it an irresistible replay staple that continues to ignite dancefloors across the continent.

Sungba (Remix) ft. Burna Boy

First appearing on his debut Ololade Asake EP in early 2022, this explosive remix gave the street hit global wings by adding a heavyweight verse from the African Giant. The heavy log drums and “Sungba” chant created a sonic earthquake that still moves crowds years later, particularly after its inclusion on his debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe.”

Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)

Released in June 2022 as a cornerstone of his record-breaking debut album Mr. Money With The Vibe, this track solidified his status as an untouchable hit-making machine. The unique blend of Islamic-inspired chants and high-octane production made it one of the most distinctive and replayed songs of his breakout era.

Spotify has turned five in Nigeria and to mark the milestone, the streaming giant just dropped some numbers that are going to make every Nigerian music lover very proud.

The platform launched in Nigeria in February 2021, and the very first song a Nigerian user streamed was, interestingly, not an Afrobeats track. It was Shiga Lin‘s Cantopop ballad from Hong Kong, which Spotify described as “a fitting start for what the next five years would look like: borderless, discovery-driven listening.” Five years later, the data tells a story that is hard to argue with.

Nigerian users have created more than 25 million playlists since launch, and in 2025 alone they clocked more than 1.4 billion hours of listening time. The average Nigerian listener on the platform is just 26 years old, and listening has grown by over 163 percent year on year since 2021. The number of Nigerian artists on Spotify is also up 158 percent since launch, meaning more creators are reaching audiences at home and around the world than ever before.

Now to the part everyone wants to know. The five most streamed artists in Nigeria over the past five years are Asake, Wizkid, Seyi Vibez, Burna Boy, and Davido. Asake’s position at the top is backed by serious numbers. Spotify notes that he has four of the top ten most streamed songs in Nigeria over the five year period, with his track “Remember” sitting at number one.

Afrobeats is the genre driving most of this growth, scaling by a staggering 5,022 percent since 2021. But Nigerian listeners are not stopping there. Amapiano has grown by 10,330 percent, gospel and praise music by 5,499 percent, hip-hop and rap by 3,020 percent, and R&B by 2,602 percent. Perhaps the most telling figure of all is that streams of music in Nigerian indigenous languages grew by 554 percent in 2024 alone, which Spotify says shows “a deep connection to local-language storytelling.”

Podcasts are also finding a serious audience. Nigerians have streamed almost 60 million hours of podcast content since Spotify launched, confirming that the appetite for audio in Nigeria goes well beyond music.

Five years in, and Nigeria is one of the most passionate listening audiences on the platform.

Yes, the music speaks for itself—hit records, Grammy nominations, sold-out stages—but when it comes to fashion, he refuses to be boxed in. He knows his lane, and he never overstays in one look.

One moment, he’s sharply dressed in a tailored grey two-piece for his Red Bull Symphonic performance. The next, he’s stepping out with electric blue hair, completely switching the mood.

That instinct was on full display in Johannesburg, where Asake stepped out for his first-ever South African performance at the Goldrush Dome. For a night that marked both a personal milestone and the closing chapter of his Africa tour, he chose a look that felt considered without trying too hard: a tan corduroy matching set that did the talking.

The outfit featured a collarless jacket detailed with contrast black piping along the edges, finished with statement white buttons and front patch pockets. The wide-leg trousers echoed the same piping down the sides, creating a clean visual line from top to bottom. Underneath, a crisp white shirt kept things grounded, while chunky tan platform boots added a practical, almost utilitarian touch that worked perfectly for a live performance setting. Dark rectangular sunglasses and stud earrings rounded things off without distraction.

What really works here is the balance. The boxy jacket and wide-leg trousers play with proportion in a way that feels both throwback and current. The tan palette does most of the talking, while the corduroy texture and black piping quietly sharpen the look.

The night itself had plenty going on. Johannesburg showed up as Asake took the stage, closing out his Africa tour on a high. The set moved smoothly between familiar favourites and moments that felt specially built for the room, with orchestral arrangements sitting comfortably alongside the Soweto Choir’s harmonies, and performances from Focalistic and Young Jonn.

December just got a whole lot hotter!. Afrobeats superstar Asake is coming back to the soil this festive season, and he’s bringing his hits with him. After a whirlwind year of touring and performing on global stages, Mr Money himself is set to light up Nairobi, Lagos, and Côte d’Ivoire this December with his highly anticipated Mr. Money African Tour.

Kicking off in Nairobi on December 20, the tour will head to Lagos on December 24, before closing out the year in Côte d’Ivoire on December 27. For fans across the continent, this is a big moment. After spending much of 2025 on international stages, Asake is returning to perform for his home crowd.

The announcement has been met with plenty of excitement – especially as fans are still eagerly waiting for his much-teased album, “Mr. Money.” While the album’s release date is still under wraps, Asake has kept us fed with hits like “Why Love” and “Badman Gangsta” featuring Tiakola, both of which have dominated African streaming charts this year.

Captioning his announcement post “back to the soil,” Asake seems ready to celebrate his roots and close out the year with a bang. If his past shows are anything to go by, this tour will be a December highlight you won’t want to miss.
