Summary

  • The new Kith x adidas Football Fall 2025 collection includes jerseys with flame artwork inspired by the 1998 World Cup uniforms and introduces denim details to the collaboration.
  • The footwear includes new versions of the Supernova Indoor and Predator Sala silhouettes. The collection drops on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Kith shops and online.

Kith x adidas Football is back with the second chapter of their partnership for the year, blending sport and lifestyle into a world-colliding Fall 2025 collection. The campaign for the new collection features two former Juventus teammates, Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala, both of whom are also World Cup Champions with the French National Team and Argentine National Team, respectively.

The new range includes a diverse assortment of apparel, accessories, and footwear, featuring flame graphics, snakeskin details, and cobranded logos. The apparel features jerseys and matching shorts, track-inspired outerwear, and introduces denim into the collaboration for the first time in patchworked silhouettes. These denim pieces are infused with sport elements like Adi-break panels on the pants for breakaway capability and contrast performance fabric at the underarms and waistband.

Jerseys feature flame artwork that draws inspiration from the 1998 World Cup uniforms, along with pinstripes with Kith and adidas embroidery and jacquard color-blocked paneling. The outerwear assortment also includes classic Kith silhouettes such as the Wyona zip-up sweater, the satin Gorman Jacket, and the Short Sleeve Zip-Up Jersey, made from materials like monogram jacquard and wrinkle nylon.

The collection's accessories include co-branded Trucker Hats and Classic Caps with Kith and adidas embroidered artwork. The range is rounded out by the Flame Tote Bag and three all-over printed soccer balls featuring artwork from the main collection. For footwear, Kith and adidas Football are reintroducing two silhouettes for Fall 202: the 1998-born Supernova Indoor, which is available in suede, nubuck ponyhair, and denim variations, and the Predator Sala, a football boot that dates back to 1994 and returns in premium glove leather. Finally, the Koresco National from the Spring 2025 collection also returns in new leather and suede iterations.

The Fall 2025 Kith x adidas Football collection drops this Friday, September 19, at Kith's retail locations and at the brand's webstore.

Summary

  • Palomo's "Eighteen" collection marks a return to Spain, symbolizing a transition from its roots to a new chapter in Madrid.
  • Inspired by adolescence and coming-of-age films, the collection blends youthful innocence with rebellious independence.

Designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo's label, Palomo, has returned to its motherland, showing its eighteenth collection, aptly titled "Eighteen." The return home from New York Fashion Week for this debut collection marks both an ode to the label's roots and the relocation of its workshop from the village of Posadas to the capital city of Madrid.

In a statement, the brand shared, "It has a lot to do with leaving the town where we have always been and where we started Palomo—leaving the workshop, leaving your home. It's about beginning to distance yourself from that family nucleus you’ve been attached to your whole life. We see it reflected in the characters of the collection, but in reality, it also speaks a lot about us, the Palomo team.”

To honor the milestones represented by "Eighteen," Palomo explores the markers of adolescence through dress: muted pastels, whimsical embroidery, and oversized bows. The first looks are cast in all white, like baptismal garments. According to the brand, this adolescent extravagance is inspired by the coming-of-age films of Sofia Coppola, like Marie Antoinette and The Virgin Suicides (think white slip dresses, extravagant gowns, and Rococo embellishments).

However, these symbols of innocence are not without tension. Leather motor jacket-inspired pieces evoke a desire for independence and grit. The powdery hues are interrupted by deep browns, olive green, and sanguine red. Bold chevron stripes are reminiscent of Barbie's signature chevron swimsuit from the 1950s—perhaps an homage to the ubiquitous doll that has come to represent a rite of passage for girlhood.

Then, power suits enter the mix, boldly represented by a black men's suit with Victorian shoulders and a chevron pussy bow collar. Next, a women's look styles an oversized blazer with a bare chest, a knee-length skirt, and chevron tights. The collection turns back to whimsy in the end, though, incorporating Swarovski flower embellishments across a bandeau top, shirting, trousers, and the final gown. Palomo Spain may have saved the flowers for the finale, but the 33-year-old designer's milestone show demonstrates that he is no late bloomer.

Sotheby’s Down Bad With Auction Giant Posting Big Losses

Summary

  • Sotheby’s revenue dropped nearly 20 percent in 2024, posting a $248 million USD pre-tax loss as the art market slowed
  • The auction house secured a $909 million investment from Abu Dhabi’s ADQ to pay down debt and buy a new Madison Avenue building

The art world’s blue-chip auction house just had a rough year. Sotheby’s, the 280-year-old giant that sells everything from Picassos to Patek Philippes, saw its revenues tumble nearly 20% in 2024 which means that fewer collectors purchased luxury goods and fine art and the house took a major hit.

According to filings in Luxembourg, Sotheby’s brought in $1.13 billion USD in 2024, down from $1.36 billion USD the year before. The losses stacked up fast, with the company posting a pre-tax loss of about $248 million USD, more than double its $106 million USD loss in 2023.

So what happened? Commissions and fees, the bread and butter of Sotheby’s, shrank as big-ticket auctions cooled as per Business of Fashion. The global art market has been sluggish and even a powerhouse like Sotheby’s is feeling it. Last year, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, ADQ, bought a 24 percent stake for $909 million USD. Sotheby’s used the cash along with a top-up from owner Patrick Drahi to pay down debt and buy a new Madison Avenue building in New York.

The big picture is that Sotheby’s is not just about gavel drops anymore. They are also lending money against art, flipping buildings and leaning on wealthy backers to weather the storm. But with sales still sliding, the question is whether this old-school auction house can be relevant in a world where hype culture and social media are already setting the rules.

  • Currently on view is WE ALL SHINE ON, an exhibition of new paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Aaron Johnson, at its recently-opened Bowman Hal art gallery

Madrid may be well known as an Old Masters capital - Picasso, Bosch, Goya among the sort - but in recent years, the city has been steadily rewriting its reputation in the contemporary art conversation, and redefining its place on the global stage. Adding to your roster of must-see art venues in Spain is SOLO CSV, a new arts and culture space from the Madrileño international arts project SOLO.

Situated just a stone's throw from the lush Parque del Oeste, the space signals an exciting new chapter for the Ana Gervás and David Cantolla-helmed collection. The venue welcomed visitors for the first time in June with its inaugural show by William Mackinnon at Bowman Hal, its purpose-built gallery, where Aaron Johnson's cosmic splendor, WE ALL SHINE ON, is currently on view.

To bring the space to life, SOLO tapped Spanish architecture firm Estudio Herreros to transform the 4,000-square-meter ex-printworks into what's perhaps best described as an ever-unfurling art labyrinth that keeps both an industrial grit and domestic charm at heart. Eschewing your typical white-walled walkthrough, CSV presents itself as a series of unexpected encounters — from its interior-exterior design that flirts with perceptive play, to paned windows peppered throughout the space, framing off-guard glimpses into collection.

Beyond Bowman Hal, the site doubles as a home base for the many projects that make up the SOLO arts incubator at large: ONKAOS, its digital arts and new media initiative; a spacious, on-site conservation and restoration lab; and the recently-announced Movimiento 37, an experimental ode to art as a cross-cultural dialogue, set to debut with a spectral showcase of sound and video works by Georgian artist Koka Nikoladze.

As SOLO’s main venue, Independencia (formerly Colleción SOLO) continues to house its 1,200-piece core across town, the opening of CSV ushers in an exciting era for the collection, one that both reinforces its position as a unifying thread and measures up to the unyielding curiosity that defines its vision. Even as its full scale is yet to come, CSV has already claimed its spot as a must-see destination for the city's contemporary art explorers.

Original Story: Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nike are responsible for creating some of the most unique footwear we've seen in recent years. Designs like 2023's Air Flea 2 stand out with not just one defining element, but multiple special details.

While we weren't treated to any kicks from the duo last year, it looks like 2025 will see them again revisit the Dunk silhouette. The two covered the Dunk Low in jewels in 2020, resulting in one of the most valuable pairs of the past decade. From there, the Air Flea 1 saw the sneaker reworked into a new style entirely. According to a new report from Sneaker Market RO, a "Swamp Sponge Dunk" is due to drop this year. With the only known details being its name and the color arrangements, there's no telling what the two have cooked up for sneakerheads this time.

At the time of writing, neither Cactus Plant Flea Market nor Nike have confirmed that this rumored Swamp Sponge Dunk project is on the way. Stay tuned for updates, including a first look at the three colorways, as it is currently forecasted to land on shelves this fall via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at an expected price point of $150 USD per pair.

When the mystery show on the final timeslot – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16 – of New York Fashion Week popped up on the official CFDA calendar, everyone was left hypothesizing what that closing showcase would be. Leave it to Laquan Smith to wrap the season up right.

After sitting out last season, Smith came correct with this collection and made a poignant and proper return to this season's schedule, gathering a gaggle of New York City's freshest and finest at Manhattan's Classic Car Club on the Hudson River Piers.

With sleek sports cars and classic models stationed throughout the venue and an outdoor terrace (caviar and champagne served) behind, the front row featured some of music's biggest names: Latto, Mariah The Scientist, Ice Spice, Busta Rhymes and Ty Dolla $ign – the latter of whom proudly confirmed to us before the show, "I did the music!"

Fellow front-row faces included a rare Wendy Williams outing, Ice T and Coco, Lil' Kim and Sukihana.

Smith stayed true to his namesake label's core DNA in the striking new womenswear delivery. The first look was an all-sheer one, kickstarting the high-energy spectacle with a cowboy hat on top and making way for a myriad of top-tier, tailored, and textured looks – lots of chiffon, sheer, and organza paired with structured leather and oversized fur bags.

Take a closer look at Smith's Spring/Summer 2026 showcase in the runway images above, and get a better glimpse at all the stars in our post below.

Head of State SS26 Envisions The Archetypes of Tomorrow

17 septembre 2025 à 16:33

Summary

  • Head of State's new collection draws from Abijako's Nigerian heritage in contemporary tailoring, paired with vibrant colors and innovative forms.
  • The line, titled "IF HEAVEN COULD TALK," celebrates the African diaspora and references the repatriation of artifacts.

On September 14, the Head of State, the NYC label helmed by Taofeek Abijako, presented a collection that peers equally into the future as it does into the distant past. In a touching ode to the African Diaspora, the Nigerian-American designer unveiled a spectrum of chromatic looks that reflect his heritage while innovating with architectural forms and clean, contemporary lines.

In the days leading up to the debut of "IF HEAVEN COULD TALK," Abijako shared a spoken word poem on Instagram that acknowledged the "artifacts stolen" and "imaginations interrupted," echoing the movement for repatriation—the returning of African artifacts to their rightful homelands. Yoruba deities like Sàngó and Òsun are referenced not as distant forces of antiquity but as arbiters of the future who live on in the emergent generations.

The empowering tone was equally present in the collection, where Western tailoring and streetwear are combined with the draped, wrapped, and loose-fitting garments of his Nigerian heritage. However, the colors of the line departed from traditional tailoring, trading navy, black, and gray for saturated turquoise, periwinkle, lavender, and primary red—evoking the exuberant hues of Yoruba dress.

An oversized short-sleeve shirt and a long-sleeve check shirt were cast in an electric mint, while details like cuffs and collars were exaggerated in double size. Some of the most impressive women's dress shapes were shown in red: a long gown with an asymmetrical ruched waist and a cocktail dress with a fan-like bodice, both in lustrous red fabric.

In a standout look, a brown suit combines military-inspired button closures and an oversized collar with a curved placket revealing a draped blue sash. This hybrid blazer appears in various shades, worn with baggy yet short shorts in unisex looks. Elsewhere, other blazers boast a shawl-like collar and wide necklines, enhancing the diversity of shapes and "archetypes of tomorrow."

A Disused London Fire Station Has Been Taken Over by Designers

Summary

  • Max Radford Gallery and Ercol have joined forces to create a furniture collection alongside six emerging designers
  • The "Grain Pile" show is part of this year's London Design Festival, and brings together Andu Masebo, Eddie Olin, Joe Armitage,  Jaclyn Pappalardo, Isabel Alonso, and Lewis Kemmenoe

Exhibition space isn't easy to come by in a city like London, and sometimes, you've just got to improvise. In Max Radford's case, the perfect location for his London Design Festival show came in the form of an old fire station, which the gallerist has filled with pieces by some of the capital's best emerging talent.

"Grain Pile" brings together six designers: Andu Masebo, Eddie Olin, Joe Armitage,  Jaclyn Pappalardo, Isabel Alonso, and Lewis Kemmenoe. In collaboration with Ercol, each has crafted a new body of work, working closely alongside the British brand's factories and materials.

Andu Masebo's "Seconds Stools" make use of parts that were defective components of furniture from Ercol's production line. Typical of his style, each is finished in a block color, breathing new life into a material that would've otherwise been unused.

Lewis Kemmenoe also employed a technique for which he is known, creating playful patterns on the sides of his rocking chair using marquetry. Eddie Olin marked his first time working with wood, creating a black-stained dining set complete with his signature metal work details, and Isabel Alonso designed a series of low tables crafted from three components: an arch, a cylinder, and a surface.

The show is complete with works from Joe Armitage and Jaclyn Pappalardo. Armitage, who was born and raised in London, looked to the city's architecture for inspiration for his armchair, which features details inspired by Keeling House by modernist architect Denys Lasdun.

Pappalardo was the only designer to veer away from tables and chairs, and instead crafted a cabinet based on the nostalgia she felt towards Ercol furniture.

For Radford, the year-long project is the perfect example of how the UK's design industry can support both itself and emerging talent.

"As a gallery, we tend to focus on UK-based talent, and to collaborate with one of the only large-scale UK-based producers feels like a perfect match," he says. "It’s good to see the design industry supporting emerging design talent in a meaningful way."

"Max and I had been talking over the last few years about trying to find a meaningful way to work together," said Henry Tadros, chairman of Ercol and great-grandson of Lucian Ercolani. "I wanted to be able to let the designers use Ercol as an inspiration and then as a tool to realise their designs where we could."

Grain Pile is on show as part of this year's London Design Festival, which is taking place across the city until September 21.

Launched in 2018 by Paige Silveria, a mainstay in New York's downtown scene, the project has kept busy cultivating a devoted following, planting exhibitions, book fairs, clothing collaborations and print publications around the globe.

For its ongoing Paris presentation, Daisies transforms the building's lower level into a celestial art cave. The showcase carves out a home in the off-kilter and unafraid with honesty, dynamism and nostalgia threading its cross-medium offerings together.

Works on view hail from an international lineup of names to watch, including Camille Soulat, Charlotte-Maëva Perret, Christie Macdonald, Jack Warne, Lisa Boalt, Lucas Dupuy, Mathis Altmann, Melchior Tersen, Nicolas Zanoni, Pierre Touré Cuq and Sarah Yukiko, alongside a performance piece by Gabrielle Schwann on opening night.

Summary

  • Jaden Smith has been named Christian Louboutin’s first-ever Men’s Creative Director, a historic appointment for the brand
  • Smith’s vision blends the house’s classic elegance with a modern sense of utility and wearability
  • His first collections will be presented in January at Louboutin stores and at Paris Fashion Week

In a historic move for the world of high fashion, Christian Louboutin has appointed Jaden Smith as the first-ever creative director for its men’s line. The appointment is a landmark moment, as Smith is the only person other than Christian Louboutin himself to hold the creative helm of the luxury house since its founding in 1991.

The decision to entrust the 27-year-old artist with a creative vision for a company valued at over $3 billion USD signals a bold new direction for the brand. Smith’s philosophy is a blend of Louboutin’s classic elegance with a distinct, modern point of view. In a statement, Louboutin spoke about Smith's new role at his company, "I found him very interesting, very kind, and very, very humble, and above all, very interesting: The way he is, the way he dresses, the way he thinks." Smith told WWD, "This is the one of the biggest honors of my life, and I feel a lot of pressure to be able to live up to everything that Christian has done for the house, and also stepping into such a serious role. When he reached out to me, I was just blown away, because of how similar we are and how much we like to do things in a similar manner. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve been working on. I think that the universe of Christian Louboutin men’s has so much potential."

Christian Louboutin himself expressed his excitement for the partnership, describing their creative discussions as a “ping-pong” of ideas fueled by a shared “enthusiasm and curiosity.” Smith's first collection is highly anticipated. An avant-premiere will release at select Louboutin stores in January and online, followed by his first seasonal men’s line at Paris Fashion Week. Jos denit Fall/Winter 2026 collection will hit stores next May.The appointment is a testament to Smith’s unique influence and a new chapter in the legacy of the iconic red sole.

Summary

The official trailer for the highly anticipated psychological thriller, The Housemaid, has been released, plunging audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion and secrets are deadly. The film, a chilling big-screen adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel of the same name, stars a powerhouse duo of Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, marking a darker turn for director Paul Feig.

The footage introduces viewers to Millie (Sweeney), a young woman with a mysterious past who is eager for a fresh start. She accepts a live-in housemaid position for the wealthy and seemingly perfect Winchester family, led by Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar). The trailer masterfully establishes a haunting atmosphere, as Millie begins to uncover that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own. What begins as a dream job quickly unravels into a sexy, seductive game of power and deception, with each character hiding something sinister beneath the surface.

This tense, psychological thriller promises a series of shocking twists that will keep audiences guessing until the very end. Both Sweeney and Seyfried were praised by producers as being "perfect" for their roles, as their ability to portray mysterious, nuanced characters with hidden depths is on full display. The Housemaid is set to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, a perfect release for fans looking to cap off their holiday season with a dose of gripping, spine-chilling suspense.

Danh Võ's Solo Exhibition "Let's Start Over" Arrives in Hong Kong

Summary

  • Duddell’s in Hong Kong reopens with a solo exhibition by artist Danh Võ, titled “Let’s Star Over"
  • The exhibition explores themes of identity and memory through the artist’s subtle use of everyday objects
  • Running from September 17, 2025, to April 6, 2026, the show is a perfect blend of culinary and creative culture

Hong Kong’s renowned cultural and culinary hub, Duddell’s, is marking a new beginning. To celebrate its reopening after a major redesign by Andre Fu Studio, the restaurant is presenting "Let's Start Over,” a new solo exhibition by internationally acclaimed Vietnamese-Danish artist Danh Võ. Curated by William Zhao, the exhibition's title is taken from a classic line in the film Happy Together, perfectly mirroring Duddell’s own fresh start. The presentation will be on view from September 17, 2025, to April 6, 2026.

This new exhibition is a profound and quiet exploration of identity, memory, and heritage, and serves as a retrospective of Võ’s artistic practice since his first show at Duddell's a decade ago. Known for his breakthrough at the 2015 Venice Biennale, Võ masterfully reconfigures everyday objects, religious relics, and family archives into subtle, yet powerful, arrangements. The works do not make grand gestures, but instead invite viewers to find personal and collective meaning in transformed materials.

A signature element of Võ’s work, a series of gold-leaf cardboard pieces, exemplifies his approach of turning the ordinary into the sacred. By doing so, he challenges conventional ideas of value and materiality. The exhibition is a forward-looking dialogue that encourages visitors to engage with the quiet power of objects and the resonant histories they carry, offering a perfect blend of culinary art and creative dialogue for which Duddell's is known.

Victor Wembanyama Receives Basketball-Themed Animated Series Titled 'Alien Dunk'

17 septembre 2025 à 02:30

Summary

In a move that further cements his status as a global icon, NBA superstar Victor Wembanyama is venturing into the world of entertainment with an animated series titled Alien Dunk. The show, a joint venture with French network TF1 and production company PGS Entertainment, is a fantastical and creative extension of Wembanyama's larger-than-life persona and his famous "Alien" nickname.

The series follows a teenage version of Wembanyama who discovers he is an alien from a planet where basketball is strictly forbidden. With a high-stakes mission to save his home world, he must navigate the challenges of being a teenager and use his otherworldly skills to make it in the NBA. The plot, which blends sci-fi adventure with the high-stakes world of basketball, is aimed at kids and family audiences and promises to be an entertaining and inspiring journey.

By co-creating and executive producing Alien Dunk, Wembanyama is taking a hands-on approach to his brand. This project is a new way for him to connect with fans, especially a younger generation, and showcase his personality beyond the basketball court. The partnership with a major French network and a global production company signals a bold effort to take the show to an international stage, proving that Wembanyama's influence extends far beyond the game itself. The animated series sets the stage for a building franchise around the Alien Dunk universe that is looking to extend to video games, publishing and other interactive experiences.
