Andreas Kronthaler is celebrating 21 years at the helm of Vivienne Westwood, continuing to push the house’s theatrical spirit further with each season. For Fall/Winter 2026, Kronthaler pulled from three distinct inspirations to shape a collection that felt unapologetically larger than life. The first was Austrian screen legend Romy Schneider, whose heritage mirrors Kronthaler’s own, followed by the lavish costume sensibilities of Italian designer Danilo Donati. Rounding out the trio is erotic underwear, injecting the collection with a subtle yet persistent sensual charge.

FW26 unfolded like a new chapter of fashion theater. Checkered car coats opened the show, layered over strappy, lingerie-inspired pieces that set the tone for the lineup’s playful provocation. Oversized glittering hats swayed down the runway beside sharply structured silk suits and netted face coverings, while latex skirts, striped blazers, and sheer stockings blurred the lines between menswear and womenswear.

Elsewhere, fabrics were draped and twisted around the body to heighten movement, styled with knit tunics and bleached trucker jackets that added a rebellious edge. The show closed with characteristic humour: a bridal suit crowned with a bouquet of radishes — a wink to the house’s enduring blend of romance, satire, and spectacle.

Pierpaolo Piccioli Channels His Euphoric Charge for Balenciaga FW26

Pierpaolo Piccioli closed out the fifth day of Paris Fashion Week with a statement-making Balenciaga show, unveiling his vision for the house’s menswear alongside a lineup of striking womenswear for Fall/Winter 2026.

The show drew a packed crowd that included Labrinth, rising actor Hudson Williams, and members of the I Love LA cast. For the occasion, Piccioli teamed up with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, projecting fragments of the show’s upcoming fourth season across towering screens throughout the venue — a cinematic backdrop that echoed their shared interest in raw human emotion.

Soundtracked by Labrinth and Rosalía, Piccioli’s Balenciaga menswear debut delivered a charged mix of hooded coats, furry parkas, checkered gradients, and bold wool outerwear rendered in vivid primary hues. Womenswear matched the intensity with sleek gowns, graphic hoodies, and commanding leather pieces.

Titled “Clairobscur,” Piccioli’s second runway for the house presented 81 co-ed looks that balanced drama with refinement. Oversized wool coats arrived with expanded collars that framed the neckline, while dark leather capes paired with eerie beauty looks and runway visuals featuring speeding cars. Off-shoulder outerwear and sharp houndstooth tailoring added structure, while feathers, florals, and waxed Canadian tuxedos injected texture and movement. Fireman-clasp coats and sequin-drenched gowns shimmered under the spotlight, heightening the collection’s theatrical edge.

With Demna’s era behind the house, Piccioli is carving out a new narrative for Balenciaga — one that fuses cinematic storytelling with couture-level drama, bringing a touch of Euphoria to the runway look after look.

Yohji Yamamoto FW26 Sees a Master at Work

Legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto took over Hôtel de Ville last night, transforming the historic venue with a runway that reimagined traditional Japanese dress through his unmistakable drapery. Greeting cards were placed on every seat, gently asking guests to experience the show with their eyes rather than their phones — a subtle but powerful gesture from the 82-year-old master. True to form, Yamamoto didn’t miss a beat with his Fall/Winter 2026 offering.

The collection unfolded through liberated silhouettes that flowed effortlessly with the body, presenting a lineup of modern-day kimonos that felt both reverent and rebellious. Knotted fabrics gathered at the side of the body, while flashes of contrasting textiles emerged from meticulously constructed robes. Each look began with Yamamoto’s signature black foundation, punctuated by vibrant prints from Katsushika Hokusai that injected bursts of color and narrative.

From artistic flamingo motifs to psychedelic stripes, the garments layered jacquard textures and subtle plaids that pushed the silhouettes into new territory. The result felt suspended between past and future — a quiet dialogue between heritage and experimentation.

For the finale, five models stepped out drenched in tradition, wearing austere knits paired with wooden geta footwear rarely seen beyond ceremonial settings. Towering hair and delicate layers defined the closing moments, as Yamamoto took his final bow to a roaring crowd that, fittingly, bowed back to the master.

Issey Miyake FW26 "Creating, Allowing" Questions Beauty and Creativity

6 mars 2026 à 21:37

For Fall/Winter 2026, Issey Miyake turns its attention to the beauty of the unfinished. Titled “Creating, Allowing,” the collection questions fashion’s obsession with perfection, inviting the audience to reconsider ideas of beauty, creativity, and imperfection. Under the direction of Satoshi Kondo, garments appear almost mid-process — suspended between completion and possibility — allowing the body and movement to complete the story.

The collection unfolded at Carrousel du Louvre during Paris Fashion Week, where drapery and layering anchored the brand’s exploratory approach. A pulsing, static-like heartbeat filled the venue as models emerged in silhouettes that felt intentionally unresolved. Rigid chest plates sculpted the body into sharp, unfamiliar proportions, offset by cascades of fabric that moved freely with each step. Next, tops arrived deliberately unstructured with exaggerated neck openings, while knitwear appeared raw and uncut, as if paused mid-creation.

Oversized trench coats introduced moments of theatricality, styled with folded sailor hats and shoulder-length gloves. Rendered in vivid yellow and blue, their boxy shoulders created a tension between structure and fluidity. Pink woven textiles plunged at the neckline and wrapped the waist with a slightly dystopian edge, while the brand's iconic pleats rippled across the runway in bursts of yellow, orange, and purple.

With “Creating, Allowing,” Kondo continues to challenge fashion’s relentless pursuit of polish. Instead, he embraces process, imperfection, and transformation, proving that sometimes the most compelling designs are the ones left open to interpretation.

Balmain Reinterprets Its Roots in Antonin Tron's FW26 Debut

Top Fashion News: March 6

Antonin Tron’s debut as Creative Director at Balmain marks a shift toward a more "noir" and "austere" sensibility. Drawing inspiration from Pierre Balmain’s original 1946 couture collection, Tron presented a range defined by supple draping and slender silhouettes. While the collection pays homage to archival leopard prints and cinematic influences like Mulholland Drive, it retains the urban sexiness established during Olivier Rousteing’s tenure. The result is a refined balance of high-glamour evening wear and bold-shouldered, business-ready looks. Tron, an Antwerp Royal Academy graduate with a pedigree including Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, brings a minimalist Atlein ethos to the house, focusing on the interaction between fabric and the feminine form.

Pieter Mulier's Final Collection Delivers an Emotional Swan Song at Alaïa

Top Fashion News: March 6

Pieter Mulier concluded his transformative five-year tenure at Maison Alaïa with a breathtaking Fall/Winter 2026 presentation at Paris Fashion Week. The collection demonstrated his architectural restraint, emphasizing sculptural silhouettes and rigorous construction that honored the late Azzedine Alaïa’s legacy. The final show marks the start of Mulier’s move to Versace, which was confirmed in early February. The designer’s appointment came after the more than $1 billion USD sale of Versace to the Prada Group, announced in 2025. As Mulier turns the page, he reunites with long-time collaborator Raf Simons, who currently helms Prada.

Costco Is Selling Off-White Hoodies?

Top Fashion News: March 6

In a surprising move for the luxury label, Off-White hoodies have appeared on the shelves of select Costco Canada locations. Priced at approximately $60 USD ($84.99 CAD), the logo hoodies are available in black, white, and blue. This shift toward mass-market retail follows the brand's recent acquisition by Bluestar Alliance, LLC, after LVMH sold the label in 2024. While the move sparks debate regarding the brand’s authenticity, in a certain sense, it aligns with founder Virgil Abloh’s original "democratic" spirit and his history of incorporating everyday symbols into high fashion. The hoodies follow other streetwear staples recently found at Costco, such as Nike Dunks and CDG Play Converse, signaling the retailer's growing interest in hype-driven streetwear drops.

The Virgil Abloh Archiveâ„¢ Officially Launches 'The Virgil Reader Vol. 001' and Public Membership

Top Fashion News: March 6

The Virgil Abloh Archiveâ„¢ (V.A.A.), stewarded by Shannon Abloh, has launched major initiatives to share the late creator's 20,000-piece body of work. The highlight is The Virgil Reader Vol. 001, a printed publication compiling foundational interviews and design insights. Alongside the book, the Archive introduced a free public membership program that provides digital excerpts, exclusive newsletters, and priority access to future drops. This "open-door" policy honors Abloh's belief that ideas are most powerful when shared. To celebrate the rollout, a two-day community activation featuring talks and screenings is scheduled for mid-March in Los Angeles.

Last season, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez officially graduated from Proenza Schouler, turning the page on a defining chapter to begin a new era at LOEWE. With Fall/Winter 2026, the duo sharpen their vision for the Spanish house, delivering a confident lineup of sculptural silhouettes, saturated color, and a preview of their LOEWE menswear.

For their sophomore outing, the designers welcomed guests to the historic Château de Vincennes, where the front row included familiar faces like Sarah Pidgeon and Julia Garner. Playful aquatic sculptures by Cosima von Bonin flanked the space, watching over a 65-look collection that unfolded along a vivid yellow runway. The show opened with a glossy, perfectly folded “lace” dress that slouched with architectural precision, followed by gradient fur coats and long-haired beaded designs topped with monochromatic hoods.

Bursts of color injected optimism into the lineup, balancing humor with dramatic volume. Puffed jackets arrived slope-ready with oversized hoods, while zippered knitwear peeled back to reveal layers in bold primary tones. Fur gowns swirled with texture alongside blooming bombers, leather parkas, and padded scarves rendered in two-tone plaid — rounding out a collection that felt playful, fearless, and unmistakably LOEWE.

Costco Is Selling Off-White Hoodies?

6 mars 2026 à 19:16

Summary

  • Following its FW26 Paris debut, Off-White is launching affordable hoodies at Costco Canada for approximately $60 USD.
  • Now owned by Bluestar Alliance, the brand’s shift toward mass-market retail sparks debate over its future luxury status and democratic roots.

Off-White, the label founded by Virgil Abloh before he helmed Louis Vuitton, has just presented its FW26 collection at Paris Fashion Week, one of the pinnacle events in the luxury industry's annual calendar. However, at the same time, the brand is coming to a mass-market retailer with products at a fraction of their typical price point.

North American wholesale mega store Costco has become Off-White's latest stockist, continuing the store's recent appetite for streetwear. Following the appearance of Nike Dunks and Comme Des Garçons Play Converse on Costco shelves, Costco Canada has announced that select Canadian locations will soon stock Off-White hoodies for $84.99 CAD or ~$60 USD. The hoodies come in three colorways: black, white, and blue.

Given the designer's democratic and people-oriented spirit, the arrival of Off-White at Costco feels like a move Abloh could have conceived himself.  Virgil Abloh's label has always been unconventional in its approach, reflecting the Chicago-born founder's streetwear roots. The designer often borrowed symbols and designs from everyday life and applied them to his graphics and brand identity.

In 2024, LVMH sold the Off-White brand after only three years of ownership. Currently, the label is owned by the brand management company Bluestar Alliance, LLC, which represents brands at a similar premium tier, such as Palm Angels, as well as mass brands like Dickies.

While one could certainly see Off-White at Costco as fitting into the brand's identity, the news also leads to questions about whether the intentions of the hoodies are to drive more sales or simply to create buzz. More importantly, the development sparks curiosity about where Bluestar Alliance intends to take the brand in the future.

Summary

  • Palomo's "Eighteen" collection marks a return to Spain, symbolizing a transition from its roots to a new chapter in Madrid.
  • Inspired by adolescence and coming-of-age films, the collection blends youthful innocence with rebellious independence.

Designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo's label, Palomo, has returned to its motherland, showing its eighteenth collection, aptly titled "Eighteen." The return home from New York Fashion Week for this debut collection marks both an ode to the label's roots and the relocation of its workshop from the village of Posadas to the capital city of Madrid.

In a statement, the brand shared, "It has a lot to do with leaving the town where we have always been and where we started Palomo—leaving the workshop, leaving your home. It's about beginning to distance yourself from that family nucleus you’ve been attached to your whole life. We see it reflected in the characters of the collection, but in reality, it also speaks a lot about us, the Palomo team.”

To honor the milestones represented by "Eighteen," Palomo explores the markers of adolescence through dress: muted pastels, whimsical embroidery, and oversized bows. The first looks are cast in all white, like baptismal garments. According to the brand, this adolescent extravagance is inspired by the coming-of-age films of Sofia Coppola, like Marie Antoinette and The Virgin Suicides (think white slip dresses, extravagant gowns, and Rococo embellishments).

However, these symbols of innocence are not without tension. Leather motor jacket-inspired pieces evoke a desire for independence and grit. The powdery hues are interrupted by deep browns, olive green, and sanguine red. Bold chevron stripes are reminiscent of Barbie's signature chevron swimsuit from the 1950s—perhaps an homage to the ubiquitous doll that has come to represent a rite of passage for girlhood.

Then, power suits enter the mix, boldly represented by a black men's suit with Victorian shoulders and a chevron pussy bow collar. Next, a women's look styles an oversized blazer with a bare chest, a knee-length skirt, and chevron tights. The collection turns back to whimsy in the end, though, incorporating Swarovski flower embellishments across a bandeau top, shirting, trousers, and the final gown. Palomo Spain may have saved the flowers for the finale, but the 33-year-old designer's milestone show demonstrates that he is no late bloomer.

When the mystery show on the final timeslot – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16 – of New York Fashion Week popped up on the official CFDA calendar, everyone was left hypothesizing what that closing showcase would be. Leave it to Laquan Smith to wrap the season up right.

After sitting out last season, Smith came correct with this collection and made a poignant and proper return to this season's schedule, gathering a gaggle of New York City's freshest and finest at Manhattan's Classic Car Club on the Hudson River Piers.

With sleek sports cars and classic models stationed throughout the venue and an outdoor terrace (caviar and champagne served) behind, the front row featured some of music's biggest names: Latto, Mariah The Scientist, Ice Spice, Busta Rhymes and Ty Dolla $ign – the latter of whom proudly confirmed to us before the show, "I did the music!"

Fellow front-row faces included a rare Wendy Williams outing, Ice T and Coco, Lil' Kim and Sukihana.

Smith stayed true to his namesake label's core DNA in the striking new womenswear delivery. The first look was an all-sheer one, kickstarting the high-energy spectacle with a cowboy hat on top and making way for a myriad of top-tier, tailored, and textured looks – lots of chiffon, sheer, and organza paired with structured leather and oversized fur bags.

Take a closer look at Smith's Spring/Summer 2026 showcase in the runway images above, and get a better glimpse at all the stars in our post below.

Head of State SS26 Envisions The Archetypes of Tomorrow

17 septembre 2025 à 16:33

Summary

  • Head of State's new collection draws from Abijako's Nigerian heritage in contemporary tailoring, paired with vibrant colors and innovative forms.
  • The line, titled "IF HEAVEN COULD TALK," celebrates the African diaspora and references the repatriation of artifacts.

On September 14, the Head of State, the NYC label helmed by Taofeek Abijako, presented a collection that peers equally into the future as it does into the distant past. In a touching ode to the African Diaspora, the Nigerian-American designer unveiled a spectrum of chromatic looks that reflect his heritage while innovating with architectural forms and clean, contemporary lines.

In the days leading up to the debut of "IF HEAVEN COULD TALK," Abijako shared a spoken word poem on Instagram that acknowledged the "artifacts stolen" and "imaginations interrupted," echoing the movement for repatriation—the returning of African artifacts to their rightful homelands. Yoruba deities like Sàngó and Òsun are referenced not as distant forces of antiquity but as arbiters of the future who live on in the emergent generations.

The empowering tone was equally present in the collection, where Western tailoring and streetwear are combined with the draped, wrapped, and loose-fitting garments of his Nigerian heritage. However, the colors of the line departed from traditional tailoring, trading navy, black, and gray for saturated turquoise, periwinkle, lavender, and primary red—evoking the exuberant hues of Yoruba dress.

An oversized short-sleeve shirt and a long-sleeve check shirt were cast in an electric mint, while details like cuffs and collars were exaggerated in double size. Some of the most impressive women's dress shapes were shown in red: a long gown with an asymmetrical ruched waist and a cocktail dress with a fan-like bodice, both in lustrous red fabric.

In a standout look, a brown suit combines military-inspired button closures and an oversized collar with a curved placket revealing a draped blue sash. This hybrid blazer appears in various shades, worn with baggy yet short shorts in unisex looks. Elsewhere, other blazers boast a shawl-like collar and wide necklines, enhancing the diversity of shapes and "archetypes of tomorrow."

Pharrell's Latest Louis Vuitton Collection Dresses the Modern Dandy

28 juillet 2025 à 20:58

Summary

  • Louis Vuitton has unveiled a Fall 2026 menswear capsule, slated for release this September
  • The line, which will act as a trans-seasonal precursor to the House's Spring/Summer 2026 collection, offers a contemporary, Ivy-inspired take on the classic dandy's style.

Pharrell's Louis Vuitton has just unveiled an all-new Fall 2026 capsule collection, twisting classic Ivy League fashions to fit the contemporary dandy. The trans-seasonal line is set to drop in September as a precursor to the House's Spring/Summer 2026 collection, with a design manifesto that cites the cross-Atlantic exchange that informs university wardrobes.

On a muted color palette imbued with lively color pops much like collegiate pennants, the line takes cues from rowing's preppy aesthetic and students' laid-back sportiness. In mode, the collection employs a wealth of signature patterns, including a studious Monogram Tartan, which takes over flannel shirts, hooded blousons, and denim sets. Elsewhere, a Monogram Heritage stripe decorates windbreakers and workwear tops, while a Monogram Seeds motif turns Louis Vuitton's flower iconography into a Damier-inspired stamp on leather overshirts and denim statements.

Given the line's between-seasons mentality, outerwear moves into center stage. Double-face wool and cashmere blousons meet single-breasted bouclette coats and camel jackets with double-face jacquard, while cargo pants and shorts offer a contemporary spin on the dandy's classic wardrobe.

What's core to the dandy, though, is the line's neckwear, including woven jacquard Monogram Heritage scarves, which reverse into various hues. Footwear is equally as posh, with LV Oxford loafers in calf leather and the boat-shoe-inspired LV Remix leading the pack.

UNDERCOVER and WTAPS Reunite for New "ONE ON ONE" Capsule

Summary

  • UNDERCOVER and WTAPS are back with another "ONE ON ONE" collection.
  • The line, which includes a series of designs inspired by Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film, Seven Samurai, is set for release on August 2.

In 2022, Jun Takahashi's UNDERCOVER and Tetsu Nishiyama's WTAPS reunited after more than two decades with a "ONE ON ONE" collaboration, which included two drops of clean co-branded cuts. Now, thanks to the link-up's success, the two labels are running it back again with another round of "ONE ON ONE" designs.

The line includes graphic T-shirts printed with the "〇△た" flag and cinematic stills from Seven Samurai, the 1954 film directed by Akira Kurosawa. Cotton broadcloth shirts and adjustable shorts boast all-over prints inspired by the movie's flag, while caps and drawstring bags see the two imprints' motifs converge alongside lettering that reads, "UNDERCOVER + WTAPS = ONE ON ONE."

Notably, this is not the first time that UNDERCOVER has put out designs inspired by Kurosawa's film. For Fall/Winter 2016, Takahashi collaborated with Supreme on a series of T-shirts boasting scenes from the movie overlayed with Supreme's logo.

Landing as the brand's "Day 3 Capsule 2" collection, the UK rapper leads the latest iteration of the Milli Mag lookbook – what the outfitter refers to as its "voice" – alongside a handful of other family and friends of the brand. Alongside the cinematic new lookbook, Milli also complemented its clothing with a short film that attempts to "mirror of the madness" of Hollywood.

The drop sees Milli Point Two drive forward its curation of leather goods, the label serving up set of new pocketed leather pants alongside different-textured jacketing and knitwear.

Moncler Grenoble to Show Fall 2026 Collection in Aspen, Colorado

28 juillet 2025 à 18:41

Summary

  • Moncler Grenoble will stage its Fall 2025 outdoor runway show in Aspen, Colorado, on January 31, 2026, marking its first U.S. ski destination presentation.

American skiing hub, Aspen, Colorado, will be the next location for Moncler Grenoble's outdoor runway presentation. Following up on its March show at the French Alpine ski resort of Courchevel, Aspen will mark the label's first show at a US ski destination.

Drawing its name from Grenoble, which hosted the 1968 Olympic Games, the label harkens back to when Moncler supplied the French national ski team with uniforms. With names like Anne Hathaway, Adrien Brody, and among the attendees of the last show, the US-based presentation is poised to attract a similar celebrity crowd. In line with Moncler's immersive presentations, the previous show took place during an active blizzard at Europe’s highest airport, more than 6,500 ft.

Moncler announced its US-based Grenoble show after its H1'25 earnings report last week, which showed a 1% decline in Q2 revenue, which it attributed to lower tourist spending in Europe and Japan. While revenue in Europe and the Middle East dropped 8%, sales in the Americas maintained positivity, perhaps signalling a renewed focus on the US.

According to WWD, Gino Fisanotti, Moncler’s chief brand officer, spotlighted Moncler's “U.S.-oriented initiatives," including the brand’s first Met Gala involvement, the Moncler Genius Mercedes-Benz by Nigo campaign, and its Donald Glover Gilga Farm collection in June.

The Moncler Grenoble Fall 2025 show is set to take place on January 31, 2026, at an unrevealed location. Stay tuned to Hypebeast for the latest fashion insights
